Bioreactors/Minilabs

Our ScienceShell Bioreactors and Minilabs are fully automated, modular platforms designed to enable advanced life-science and bioengineering research in microgravity and on Earth. Each ScienceShell is a self-contained experimental unit integrating culture chambers, fluid tanks, pumping systems, illumination, sensors, and programmable control electronics into a compact, flight-ready design.

Thanks to their modular architecture, culture chambers and reservoirs can be adapted to specific volumes and experimental needs. Automated medium exchange, nutrient supply, fixation processes, and environmental control ensure reliable, reproducible results without manual intervention. Optional LEDs, sensors, and imaging systems further expand analytical capabilities.

From liquid cell culture and parallel cultivation to bioelectrochemical applications, microscopy, and plant growth studies, the ScienceShell portfolio supports a wide range of molecular, cellular, microbial, and plant-based research.
