The future of orbital biomanufacturing starts long before launch.🚀🧬
Every breakthrough in space biotechnology begins on Earth. Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming several teams from the SPRIND - Bundesagentur für Sprunginnovationen Orbital BioWorks Challenge to Yuri in Meckenbeuren.
It was great to meet and exchange ideas with representatives from:

The visit marked the beginning of an exciting new phase.
Throughout August, all 12 selected teams will take part in our Science Test Model (STM) Workshops, where they'll prepare their experiments for the next stage of the challenge.
Then the real work begins.
Over the following months, the teams will test, iterate, improve and test again using our Science Test Models to validate and optimize their concepts for microgravity research.
In November, they'll present their progress to the jury, and only four teams will be selected to move on to the next phase of the Orbital BioWorks Challenge.
We're proud to support these outstanding innovators and can't wait to see which ideas will take the next big step toward space.
